As a Civil Engineer Steel, you work on the design, calculation, and specification of civil and structural steel structures within industrial projects. You are a specialist in your field and translate functional requirements and design principles into safe, sustainable, and technically feasible structural solutions.

You collaborate with engineers from other disciplines (process, mechanical, E&I) and maintain contact with clients and suppliers. Within projects, you work independently under the guidance of the team leader or discipline manager.

What will you do (among other things)?

• Designing and calculating civil and structural steel structures;

• Developing structural designs for steel constructions, support structures, and civil works;

• Advising on civil and structural engineering challenges;

• Preparing calculations and specifications in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines;

• Verifying designs against applicable legislation and standards (including Eurocodes);

• Preparing progress, quality, and cost reports;

• Developing and maintaining discipline-specific (civil/structural – steel) standards;

• Ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental (SHE/HSE) regulations.

Candidate profile

We are interested in professionals who identify with our core values:

• A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or similar);

• Relevant work experience in civil engineering is a plus;

• In possession of a VCA VOL certificate (or willing to obtain one);

• Knowledge of steel structures and applicable standards and guidelines (including Eurocodes);

• Excellent command of Dutch (C1) and English (B2);

• Affinity with sustainability and innovation within an industrial environment;

• Willingness to work occasionally at client locations.
