At Vicoma, you are the specialist who makes high-voltage substations smarter and safer. As a Secondary High Voltage Engineer, you design the control and protection systems that are crucial for a reliable electricity grid. Together, we ensure that the Netherlands is ready for the future of energy.

What will you (among other things) be doing?

  • Designing and detailing secondary installations (control, protection, and automation);

  • Preparing schematics, cable calculations, and work packages;

  • Collaborating with colleagues from primary engineering and project management;

  • Supervising execution and commissioning on site;

  • Reviewing and validating designs against client specifications, standards, and safety requirements.

Candidate profile

Job requirements

  • A completed HBO or WO degree (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or similar);

  • Relevant work experience with secondary systems in high-voltage substations;

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, ELCAD/EPLAN is a plus;

  • An affinity with sustainability and innovation within the industry;

  • Willingness to occasionally work on client locations;

  • And analytical, accurate, and strong communication skills.

Our experts work every day on designing and detailing secondary installations. In doing so, knowledge of locations and grid operators is essential. We are continuously looking for smart solutions in control, protection, and automation challenges, bridging the gap between existing (brownfield) and new (greenfield) installations.
