What can you expect?

Your role

As a Senior Engineer Mechanical & Factory Design, you play a key role in complex industrial projects. You will succeed a highly experienced senior who is retiring, thereby taking on an important position within the department.

You work largely independently and are responsible for both the technical content and the guidance of colleagues. You are expected to fully understand complex challenges, make well-substantiated design decisions, and clearly communicate these to colleagues, project managers, and clients. You are given a great deal of freedom in your approach and solutions, with a colleague always involved for review, assurance, and quality control.

In addition to your technical expertise, you also take responsibility for project management: you monitor progress, quality, and hours, and actively maintain contact with regular clients and other stakeholders.

What will you be doing?

In this role, your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Performing and reviewing complex structural calculations related to strength, stability, and remaining service life;

• Preparing and checking FEM analyses;

• Designing structures in industrial environments, both greenfield and brownfield;

• Working in accordance with applicable Eurocode standards;

• Guiding and providing substantive support to fellow engineers on complex calculations;

• Taking responsibility for project management, including planning, progress monitoring, and hours control;

• Coordinating with project managers and collaborating with disciplines such as civil, piping, process, and E&I;

• Communicating with external stakeholders, including technical and financial project leads;

• Working with tools and software such as Ansys, Scia, Idea, Inventor, and AutoCAD.

What do you bring with you?

• A completed university (WO) degree / master’s degree (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or similar);

• Extensive experience as an engineer in an industrial (project) environment is a strong plus;

• VCA VOL certified (or willing to obtain this certification);

• In-depth knowledge of structural calculations;

• Strong command of both Dutch (C1) and English (B2);

• A coaching mindset: you are willing to mentor colleagues and provide substantive support;

• Affinity with sustainability and innovation within the industrial sector;

• And the willingness to (occasionally) work at client locations.
