What can you expect?

Your role

As a Civil Engineer Concrete/Steel, you work on industrial projects within both greenfield and brownfield environments. Your primary focus is the independent calculation and design of steel structures and concrete foundations/structures.

You operate at a medior level: you are able to work independently for approximately 80% of your tasks and understand when to ask targeted questions to a senior colleague to finalize your calculations or design. There is no training capacity for a fully junior profile; we are looking for someone who can add value immediately and independently manage projects within the agreed scope.

You collaborate with modelers, Piping, E&I, and the Lead Engineer or Team Leader. Within defined frameworks, you are given the freedom to propose your own design choices and technical solutions.

What will you be doing?

• Performing structural calculations for steel structures and concrete foundations/structures

• Applying the Eurocodes within the Dutch regulatory framework

• Coordinating with modelers on structural design principles and assumptions

• Aligning with clients on technical decisions and design choices

• Conducting site visits when required

• Working on multiple projects simultaneously, often driven by tight planning schedules

• Reviewing calculations and drawings (with growth towards CC3-level checks)

You will structurally work with:

• SCIA Engineer

• Technosoft

• IDEA StatiCa

• Microsoft Office 365 (Excel and Word are essential)

Knowledge of Navisworks and document control processes will be further developed on the job.

What do you bring with you?

• A completed bachelor’s degree (e.g., Civil Engineering or similar);

• Relevant experience in in preparing calculations for both steel and concrete structures is considered a strong asset is an nice additional benefits;

• VCA VOL certified (or willing to obtain this certification);

• Experience with SCIA Engineer and Technosoft.

  Do you have strong technical expertise but experience with a different calculation package? A SCIA training course can be discussed.

• Strong command of both Dutch (C1) and English (B1);

• Affinity with sustainability and innovation within the industrial sector;

• Willingness to (occasionally) work at client locations.
