What can you expect?

Your role

As a Senior Design Engineer Piping, you are responsible for designing, developing, and coordinating piping installations within industrial projects. You work on projects ranging from basic design to detail engineering and are technically involved from the initial site survey through to final delivery.

You translate client requirements, P&IDs, and site information into technically robust and practically feasible designs. In doing so, you work largely independently, maintain direct contact with clients, and provide guidance to designers within projects when needed.

In addition to engineering, you actively contribute to technical decision-making, feasibility, planning, and cost considerations.

What will you be doing?

• Independently design and develop 3D piping layouts

• Translate P&IDs, work descriptions, and client information into technical designs

• Conduct site surveys and field measurements

• Prepare cost estimates and support quotation processes

• Execute projects from basic design through to detail design

• Create, review, and verify isometrics

• Perform 3D model reviews

• Work with 3D scans and process site data

• Guide and supervise designers within projects

• Coordinate with clients on technical issues and design decisions

• Collaborate with disciplines such as Process and Structural

• Monitor the quality, planning, and progress of deliverables

• Identify when pipe stress analyses are required and coordinate with specialists accordingly

Tools you will work with

In this role, you will work daily with tools such as:

• AutoCAD Plant 3D

• AutoCAD

• Navisworks

Experience with other 3D piping software is, of course, also welcome.

What do you bring with you?

• A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree (e.g., Engineering or similar)

• Relevant experience in Piping design or 3D piping software is a nice additional benefits

• VCA VOL certified (or willing to obtain this certification)

• Strong command of both Dutch (C1) and English (B2)

• Affinity with sustainability and innovation within the industrial sector

• Willingness to (occasionally) work at client locations

A plus if you have experience with the following!

• Knowledge of piping layouts, isometrics and structural principles

• Ability to independently take on projects and make technical decisions

• Experience with client contact and project coordination

• A practical mindset and a solution-oriented approach

• Experience with pipe stress analyses

• At the very least, you know when a stress calculation is required
